Event | The Sustainable Development Goals and the Push to Eradicate Human Trafficking in Hong Kong
Many thanks to Macquarie Group for hosting Wednesday evening’s event (jointly organised by Justice Centre Hong Kong, Mekong Club and Macquarie Group). Matt Friedman of Mekong Club presented on the prevalence of Human Trafficking globally, and Piya Muqit of Justice Centre Hong Kong presented on the local context in Hong Kong, and how businesses can help eradicate human trafficking through engaging with their commitments under the Sustainable Development Goals and the HK Exchange’s Environmental, Social and Governance reporting requirements.
It was my pleasure to have been one of the panellists for the panel discussion, which proved to be a candid and thought-provoking discussion that centred on how to mobilise the business community in Hong Kong to engage on this issue. I was joined on the panel by Mark Devadason, Board Member of Mekong Club, and Michael Weaver of Clifford Chance.
