National press release 03/06/2025

New resources launched to enable culture and behaviour change for inclusive workplaces and learning environments

Funded by NHS England South West and led by University of the West of England, Bristol (UWE), The Inclusive Training within Practice (ITP) project offers free learning resources to support inclusive practice in healthcare and in education.

Resources are appropriate for a range of audiences across healthcare including the whole workforce, specific roles and practice education and Higher Education Institutions and Further Education Colleges.

Impact on workforce culture and behaviour

These resources address the root cause of racism and discrimination with the aim of improving the experiences and outcomes of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic learners and international staff in healthcare.

Embedding these resources within organisations across healthcare and education will enable culture and behaviour change for inclusive workplaces and learning environments.

The short-term impact in building staff awareness and confidence should be immediate after staff begin to use the resources.

Culture and behaviour change will likely take longer as staff will join a personal learning journey to explore and dismantle their biases and take inclusive approaches in their practice.

Local impact measures against ITP learning resources could be measured as part of local course evaluation, staff feedback and organisation-level data.
