Event | Dialogue with Chair of the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights
It was my pleasure to join Dr. Surya Deva, Chair of the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights, in a lively dialogue with an audience at Metta. The event, organised by Justice Centre Hong Kong, and supported by Macquarie Group, attracted a large and diverse crowd interested and engaged in the topic of why human rights is the business and business, and how the business and human rights community can utilise the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (‘UNGPs’) in their business operations and supply chains. The conversation was wide-ranging: touching upon how the UNGPs came into existence, how they intersect with the Sustainable Development Goals, and how they can be used by businesses in Hong Kong to address human rights and social justice issues such as human trafficking and poverty.
A live-stream of the event is available on Justice Centre’s facebook page.
