Daring Leadership With Brené Brown

I have long been a fan of the work of Brené Brown on vulnerability, empathy, and shame and have for many years integrated her research into my coaching and leadership development practice.

Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston and author of five #1 New York Times bestsellers: The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, Braving the Wilderness, and Dare to Lead, which also debuted at #1 on The Wall Street Journal and Publisher’s Weekly lists. Dare to Lead was released in October 2018 and is the culmination of a seven-year study on the future of leadership.  To accompany the publication of Dare to Lead she established Dare to Lead™, an empirically based courage-building program designed to be facilitated by organisational development professionals.

As part of my continuing professional development, I seized upon the opportunity of being taught by and learning first-hand from Brené Brown so attended her Dare to Lead™workshop in San Antonio, Texas in June 2019 to become a Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator.

Now more than ever brave leadership and courageous cultures are needed in our workplaces and communities and Brené Brown’s research on the role of courage in daring leadership is a rich addition to the research-based resources which I look forward to putting into practice in my coaching and leadership development engagements.
